HOW CAN WE MEASURE LIFE?
HOW CAN WE MEASURE LIFE?
I lost a friend last week. He had an accident. I checked my BBM page, scrolled down to my sisters dp and saw his picture. I was about to ask if it was his birthday, then I saw the pm. RIP. It hit me, I couldn’t think for some seconds. He is dead. How? When? Where? So he is gone. So I won’t see him again. How can he die I kept asking. He was so full of life, so friendly and free with everyone. He just knew how to lighten up a boring environment. So why did he leave us without a good bye. It was really painful and sad.
Then I asked myself was he gone too soon. How can I tell? I’m not God. I had so many questions to ask. If we were too measure his life, how do we do it. He wasn’t able to accomplish all his dreams. Then I realized that life can’t be measured. But we can only tell a life well lived and how do that, by looking at others that life touched. My friend touched so many lives through his smile, his jokes, his warm laughter, his words of encouragement and his sincerity. He lived his life well. He may have spent a short time on earth, but it’s about quality and not quantity. We are all blessed to have had an encounter with him. Though he is gone, he will forever live in our hearts. And one day we will see him in heaven. Rest In Peace my dear friend.
